Incredible Original 1940s Vintage Lipstick Red Gabardine Fit And Flare Coat By Raelson
This fabulous coat was made in the late 1940s from lipstick red gabardine. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The large collar leads to a single fabric covered button fastening with two further buttons cinching the coat in at the waist. Beautiful geometric seam work adorns front of the bodice and the back has a wonderful blousy fit. Huge diagonal hip pockets add a practical feature and large turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves perfectly. The skirt is very full and falls in gorgeous pleats giving it lovely swish and movement. Inside, the coat is lined in red crepe and has a maker’s label for Raelson.
Bust: 36” approximately (potentially a little more due to cut of the sleeves)
The coat is in very good condition with only a few grazes and two small holes at the cuff as pictured.
