Incredible Original 1940s 40s Vintage Red Gabardine Fit And Flare Princess Coat
This stunning princess coat was made from red gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in a fabulous fit and flare silhouette with padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The nipped waist is further highlighted with the buttoned back belt that emphasises the many pleats on the back of the coat. The sharp dagger collar can be worn open to create a V neckline or buttoned at the top to give a high neck silhouette. There are also two matching fabric covered buttons that fasten the coat at the waist in a double breasted configuration and some fabulous triangular seam work at the sides of the bodice. Inside, the coat is lined in sumptuous red satin and is without maker’s labels.
