RESERVED FOR EVELINA - PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE - Incredible Original 1940s 40s Vintage Burgundy Wine Swing Coat With Astrakhan Collar
This stunning coat was made from burgundy wool in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The high neckline leads to a single row of three beautiful fabric covered buttons that fasten the coat at the bust. I scarf style grey astrakhan collar adds a lovely detail to the coat and can be worn to simulate a scarf. At the back, wonderful chevron stitch detailing really draws the eye to the strong shoulder line. There are functional slit pockets at the waist and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the coat is lined in crepe with a wool interlining and has a maker’s label for Norman Fallot as well as a National Recovery Board tag.
Bust: 42”
Shoulders: 15” seam to seam
Length: 46”
The coat is in very good condition with only two tiny external flaws and some damage to the lining at the shoulders, likely from a coat hanger, as pictured.
