Incredible Original 1940s 40s Fuchsia Pink Swing Coat With Geometric Details
This stunning coat was made in the 1940s from beautiful wool gabardine in a rich shade of fuchsia pink meets burgundy. The coat was cut in a classic open fronted swing shape with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The notched lapel collar features gorgeous top stitched geometric detailing and those geometric elements have been mirrored in the oversized triangular pockets and sleeve cuffs. Fabric covered buttons adorn the pockets and the cuffs, adding an extra detail. Inside, the coat is lined in acetate with those lovely straps for wearing the coat draped over the shoulders and does not have any maker’s labels.
Bust: 42-44” max but intended to be worn loosely
Shoulders: 16 1/2” seam to seam
Length: 32”
The coat is in good condition with only a few tiny marks and nibbles as well as some discolouration to the lining as pictured. One of the cuff buttons is missing the front section but you could simply remove both or have a replacement made from placket fabric.
