Incredible Original 1930s Vintage Burgundy Silk Velvet Evening Gown Dress With Low Back

This incredible evening gown was made from luxurious burgundy rayon velvet in the 1930s. It was fashioned in a the classic bias cut style of the period, which gently skims the wearer’s curves. The high neckline is tied with fabric ties at the back of the neck and creates a sultry low back cut out. Several rows of delicate shirring run along the entire neckline, creating sun ray pleats that fall down across the bodice of the dress. There is a sexy cut out at the bust, just above the high triangular waist yolk. The wonderful sleeves are loose and flowing and open from the top of the shoulder and the waist can be cinched in with the original fabric belt. The skirt tightly hugs the wearer’s curves for that elegant elongated silhouette we all associate with the 1930s and the dress fastens with poppers at the side.

The dress is in very good condition with only a few areas of seam stress, repairs and some stitching from a previous alteration as pictured. There are a few slight depressions in the velvet but this is not noticeable when worn.
