Incredible Original 1930s 30s Vintage Navy Blue Belted Suit

This incredible suit was made from a navy blue textured wool in the late 1930s. It was cut in a stunning late 1930s silhouette with padded slightly gathered shoulders and a nipped waist which is cinched in with a matching fabric belt. The fabric belt is attached to the back of the jacket, merging into a large back panel. The super flattering high neckline emphasises the strong shoulders and the jacket is fastened with a single knit shaped button at the neck. Clever panel work and darting give a wonderful shape to the jacket. Inside, the jacket is lined in rayon and does not have any maker’s labels. The matching skirt features long inverted pleats at the centre front and back and fastens with a metal side zipper and press stud closure above.

Length: 24” plus 2 1/4” hem

The suit is in very good condition with only some minor wear to the placket edges on the collar and a small split to the lining. The skirt was taken up at some point but there is a large hem allowance which can be let back down to gain extra length.
