This incredible coat was made in the 1920s from an absinthe green and gold lamé with a beautiful floral motif. It was cut in the classic loose fitting silhouette of the period with a single fabric covered button and loop fastening at the waist. The large pleated and padded ruffle collar can also be worn standing up and adds a beautiful design detail but the real showstoppers are the enormous gigot sleeves which taper at the cuffs. The craftsmanship and design of this piece is simply exquisite, commensurate with high end designer pieces of the era. The inside of the coat has been lined in cream silk satin with an integral loop and tie as well as a small spare fabric covered button. There is a maker’s label for Julius Garfinckel & Co of Washington and Paris.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few extremely minor flaws and some slight marking to the lining as pictured.
