Incredible Duck Egg Blue 1940s 40s Vintage Coat With Trapunto Pockets And CC41 Label
This fabulous coat was made from duck egg blue wool in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic 1940s swing style with super strong padded shoulders and a loose fit to the rest of the coat. The large rounded edge collar defines the high neckline and the stunning geometric panel work and the large vent give definition and a wonderful swish to the back of the coat. The large pockets at the hip have been decorated with trapunto quilting to add a further detail and the sleeves are finished off with turn up cuffs. The coat fastens with two buttons, one at the neck and one at the waist. Inside, the coat is lined in grey satin and has the CC41 utility label.
Shoulders: 15” seam to seam
Length: 42 1/2”
The coat is in good condition, however there is some slight colour variance throughout the piece as well as a few tiny marks and pinholes. There are also two well executed darns and some damage to the lining as pictured.
