This stunning hat was made from fine quality black textured straw in the 1930s. The texture is achieved through an embossed square design, which creates a wonderful detail. The hat is fashioned in a classic early to mid 1930s silhouette with a medium sized brim. The crown has been decorated with a petersham ribbon hat band which has been delicately pleated to adorn the front of the hat. Inside, the hat is lined in black silk but does not have any maker’s labels.
Size: 22” (possibly a little larger)
The hat is in very good condition with only some tiny pinholes to the silk lining as pictured.
