Fantastic Original Late 1940s / Early 1950s Forest Green Princess Coat With Huge Pockets
This fabulous coat was made in the late 1940s from an olive green wool rayon blend. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The oversized collar emphasises the shoulder line and leads to three angular buttons which fasten the coat. Seam detailing below the bust draws the eye to the fitted waist and huge pockets add a wonderful feature to the coat. A simple inverted pleat at the back of the skirt adds beautiful movement to the coat and inside, it is lined in sumptuous satin. This appears to be made to an original Vogue pattern from 1949.
