Fabulous Unusual Late 30s 30s Early 1940s 40s Original Vintage Pumpkin Orange Asymmetrical Coat With Amazing Collar
This amazing coat was made in the late 1930s / early 1940s from a beautiful pumpkin orange wool. It was cut in a classic straight wartime swing style with beautifully gathered shoulders and a loose fit below. The back is adorned with a decorative double pin tucked seam down the centre which adds a stylish detail. But the real style focus is the fabulous collar, it is such an unusual design! A large sharp collar section covers the entirety of the shoulders of the coat whilst a further oversized sharp collar falls down the front of the coat. The piece fastens on an offset asymmetrical style with three huge buttons and has functional pockets at the waist. Inside, the coat is lined in rayon but does not have any maker’s labels anymore.
Shoulders: 15” seam to seam
Length: 35 1/2”
The coat is in very good condition with only a few small professional repairs that are barely visible as well as a split to the lining as pictured. On a hanger, the lining appears a tiny bit longer than the coat outer but this may resolve itself once the coat is actually worn as it does not show on the mannequin pictures.
