This fabulous was made in the late 1940s / early 1950s from dark brown gabardine with mustard yellow sprinkles. The coat can be worn either unbelted as a swing coat or with the matching belt to cinch in the waist for a more fitted silhouette. You got to love a coat with two different options! The underside of the small collar is lined in sumptuous mustard velvet and a single row of six mustard yellow buttons fastens the coat at the front. Three matching buttons decorate each of the large offs on the oversized sleeves and there are functional slit pockets at the waist. Inside, the coat is lined in pale yellow faille and has a maker’s label for Rain Shedder. 

Due to the style of the coat and the raglan shoulders, this piece is suitable for a variety of sizes from medium to XL and we have shown the maximum measurements below:

Bust: up to 50”

Belt: 54” but need to leave space to tie

Length: 39 1/4”

 

The coat is in good condition with a few professional repairs to the outside and some small areas of wear to the lining as pictured.
