This stunning hat was made from red pleated straw in the 1940s. The straw has been pleated in a decorative triangular pattern to add interest. The hat is styled as a classic toy tilt hat that perches on the head at a jaunty angle. The low crown has been decorated with a red grosgrain hat ribbon and bow. Inside, the hat has a maker’s label for R Maret of Bordeaux.
As this hat perches on the head, it is suitable for a variety of head sizes.
The hat is in very good condition with however the hat elastic has perished and would benefit from being replaced.
