Fabulous Original 1940s 40s Vintage Red Check Swing Coat With Button Details By Bonnie Zip
This stunning coat was made in the late 1940s / early 1950s from wool in a check pattern of bright and deep red shades. The coat was cut in a classic swing shape with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The sharp collar merges into a neck yolk at the back, which has been adorned with three decorative buttons and emphasises the strong shoulder line. From there the coat falls in large flattering pleats, giving lovely movement to the garment. Four matching carved buttons fasten the coat at the front and there are functional slit pockets at the waist. Large turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully and the inside is lined in satin with a maker’s label for Bonnie Zip. This piece would once have had a zip in winterised lining but sadly this is no longer present.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few professional darns that are barely noticeable and some seam splits to the lining.
