Fabulous Late 1930s / Early 1940s Volup Vintage Pleated Pale Pink Crinkle Crepe Dress
This stunning dress was made from pale pink crepon in the late 1930s / early 1940s. The fabric as a wonderful unusual crinkle texture that drapes beautifully and has been pleated at the bust to enhance the shape. A shoulder yolk extends into a flat panel running down the front centre of the bust, which gives a slimming effect. The small collar has been adorned with delicate top stitch detailing and follows the yolk seams and turn up cuffs finish off the short sleeves. The skirt features gorgeous gored seams at the front and back which open up into inverted pleats below hip level, adding wonderful movement to the dress. It fastens with an original metal side zipper and functional buttons at the back of the bodice. Inside, it has a maker’s label for Deval.
