This breathtaking coat was made from rich forest green wool in the 1940s. It was cut in a classic princess coat silhouette with padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The tailoring on this piece is simply stunning with clever seam work used to accentuate the wearers shape. The shoulder yolk seaming strengthens the classic 1940s shoulder line and then runs down the front of the coat mirroring the wearer’s curves! The small collar allows for the coat to be buttoned high or the top button to be left undone for a more open neckline with a larger shawl collar. The coat fastens with five stunning fabric covered buttons with gold studded centres which are arranged in a double breasted configuration. The skirt has been beautifully gored to give it flare and movement and inverted pleats at the back add extra swish. Turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves in style. Inside, the coat is lined in crepe with a wool interlining and has a maker’s label for Jordan’s as well as a National Recovery Board tag.

The coat is in very good condition only a small mark, a repair to the buttonhole and some slight discolouration to the lining as pictured.
