Exquisite Original 1940s Volup Vintage Chartreuse Green Swing Coat With Fur Trim By Elisberg
This incredible coat was made in the 1940s from chartreuse green wool. It was cut in the classic swing coat silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The collar and the entire length of the plackets has been trimmed in sumptuous fur which was accented with chartreuse wool just above the waist. A hook within the fur at the waist holds the coat closed and discrete slit pockets add a practical feature. Beautiful seam work adds a nice detail to the back and three pin tucks adorn each side of the shoulders at the front. Inside, the coat is lined in rich chartreuse satin with a wool interlining and has a maker’s label for Elisberg as well as a National Recovery Board tag.
Bust: up to 46”
Shoulders: 16” seam to seam
Length: 40 1/2”
The coat is in very good condition with only a few faint marks and grazes. There is also some wear to the fur and the lining needs a couple of seam repairs as pictured.
