Exquisite Original 1930s Vintage Black And Grey Striped Coat
This incredible coat was made in the 1930s from wool in a textured stripe in shades of black and white. It was cut in the classic loose fitting swing silhouette of the period with gathered and padded shoulders and an open front. The small collar was fashioned from luxurious velvet, which continues down the plackets to the hem. Small functional slit pockets at the hips and left bust have been highlighted in black and the pattern matching across the back of the coat is absolutely perfect, creating a stunning chevron design. Inside, the coat is lined in rayon and has a rare early Swansdown maker’s label. This coat even comes with a picture of the original owner wearing it!
Bust: 40” with edges meeting but should be worn loose fitting
Shoulders: 18” edge to edge
Length: 47”
The coat is in very good condition with only a few very minor external flaws and a repair to the lining as pictured.
