Exceptionally Rare Original Edwardian 1910s Antique Navy Blue Floral Print Dress Pigeon Chest Titanic Era
This exquisite dress was made in the 1900-1910s from lightweight fine netting in beautiful navy blue and grey floral pattern. The fabric has been fully lined in grey silk for modesty whilst maintaining an ethereal lightness. The high neckline at the front creates the classic pigeon chested silhouette of the period and the neckline dips slightly at the back. And unusual shoulder overhang creates a layered appearance and the edges of the overhang, neckline and three quarter length sleeves have been trimmed with navy piping. The waist is defined with a wide contrasting cummerbund and below it the skirt falls in gentle fluid pleats. The dress fastens with hooks and poppers from the neckline down to the hip.
Bust: 36” (tight 38”)
Waist: 26”
Hips: 41”
Length: 46”
The dress is in very good condition with only some minor external flaws and some slight shattering to the silk lining (predominantly at the underarms where dress shields protect it from further strain) as pictured.
