Exceptional Original 1930s Vintage Gold Satin Blouse With Soutache Embroidery

This exquisite blouse was made from sumptuous shiny golden champagne satin in the 1930s. It features the strong padded shoulders of the early wartime silhouette and a wonderful pleated swag that runs across the waist. The pieces has been covered in delicate black beaded swirls throughout, leaving only the small collar, placket and swag unadorned. Two black buttons and some hidden poppers fasten the blouse at the bust and hooks hold the swag in place at the waist. The piece is unlined inside and does not have any maker’s marks. This garment is of fabulous quality both in its design and workmanship and weighs heavily with all of the glass beads.

The blouse is in very good condition with only a few areas of loose or missing beading and a couple of faint marks as pictured. Due to the sense bead work, neither of these flaws are very noticeable when worn.

This garment is available to purchase with or without dress shields. These clever little contraptions have been made by our seamstress to an original 1940s pattern and can be simply attached to your garment by tack stitching at the corners of the underarm seam, pinning (we wouldn’t recommend that, it hurts if it goes wrong, so if you try this, it is at your own risk only) or inserting tiny poppers. They then stand ready to absorb any sweat and body odours as needed and you can simply detach and launder them instead of your garment, saving you a fortune in dry cleaning bills.

They are equally suitable for suits, blazers and dresses and come in pure white cotton.

They are universally sized and super easy to use even for a sewing novice as only a couple of tiny stitches are required at each side to secure them.
