Exceptional 1920s / Early 1930s Black Textured Velvet Coat with Silk Lining and Bishop Sleeves
Late 1920s / Early 1930s Black Textured Velvet Coat with Silk Lining
An extraordinary late 1920s to early 1930s black velvet coat with dramatic surface texture and undeniable presence. This is a deeply luxurious piece, designed to be felt as much as seen, with a richly worked velvet exterior and a smooth cream silk satin lining that elevates it into true eveningwear territory. Darkly glamorous and unmistakably bold, it carries strong femme fatale appeal.
The silhouette is elongated and commanding, finished with voluminous bishop sleeves and a sculptural ruffled collar that frames the neckline beautifully. The velvet has an almost carved quality, catching the light with movement and depth that simply doesn’t exist in modern fabrics.
