Original 1940s 40s White Light Weight Cheese Cloth Cotton Voile Hungarian Peasant Blouse With Hand Embroidered Flowers And Smocking
This beautiful Hungarian peasant blouse was made from a white cotton voile in the 1940s. The garment is adorned with embroidered floral embellishments in an unusual colour combination of coral pink and turquoise across the bodice and short sleeves. Multicoloured smocking is used to decorate the waist and neckline. This smocking gives the neckline texture and volume using a number of pleats which extend down the back of the garment. Inside, the blouse is unlined to remain super airy and lightweight and has a label indicating the colour fastness of the die and hand embroidered.
