Beautiful Original 1940s Volup Vintage Periwinkle Blue Spring Weight Gabardine Swing Coat

This wonderful coat was made in the late 1940s from periwinkle blue wool gabardine. It was cut in the classic shorter length swing shape of the period with beautiful volume and movement. It is open fronted lending itself to being styled casually with modern clothing as well as part of a vintage outfit. The notched lapel collar has been highlighted with decorative stitching along the edge which also decorated the large turn up cuffs on the wide sleeves. Semicircular patch pockets add a practical design element to finish off the piece. Inside, it is lined in sumptuous by pale blue satin and has a maker’s label for Saltaire Fabric with a cute little lama.

 
This piece is intended to be loose fitting and due to the style will be suitable for a range of sizes. We have shown below the maximum sizing. 

Bust: up to 44” with edges meeting

Shoulders: 16” from edges of shoulder pads

Length: 27”

The coat is in very good condition with only a few barely noticeable marks and nibbles and some discolouration to the inside collar and lining as pictured.
