Beautiful Original 1940s 40s Vintage Fair Isle Knit Land Girl Sweater Vest

This fabulous sweater vest was made from wool in the 1940s. It was knitted in a rich chocolate brown with detailed fair isle patterned knit in shades of red, turquoise and a creamy grey covering the main body of the vest. The hem, neckline and sleeve seems have been knitted in rib stitch to give some stretch. The small V neckline gives a perfect window for the shirt and tie to show underneath. The vest appears to be handmade and does not have any maker’s labels. 

There is a significant amount of stretch to the knot so have shown below measurements at ease a d also at a comfortable stretch

Bust: 28” - 36”

Waist: 23” - 31”

Length: 19 1/2”

The vest is in good condition with only a few small darns (the largest is shown inside and out in the first image) and loose threads as pictured.
