Amazing Original Late 1930s 30s / Early 1940s 40s Hot Fuchsia Pink Blazer With Stunning Flower Buttons
This beautiful blazer was made from a fuchsia pink textured fabric with a little stretch just on the cusp between the late 1930s and the early 1940s. The jacket is cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The shoulder construction really is exceptional, with no actual seams running across the top of the shoulders but instead a seam at the top of the bust which slightly gathers the fabric into a flattering bust detail. The hourglass silhouette is further emphasised by the unusual panel work at the waist with semicircular panels inserted at each side of the waist and velvet darting above. The large notched lapel collar leads to a single row of five beautifully carved flower shaped buttons which add a real design statement to the piece. Inside, the blazer is lined in pink crepe and bears the maker’s label for Sara Fredericks of Boston.
Bust: 36”
