Amazing Original 1940s Vintage Black And Cream Plaid Swing Coat By Betty Rose
This incredible coat was made in the 1940s from a black and cream wool plaid. It was cut in the classic swing style of the period with strong padded shoulders and a voluminous fit below. The sharp dagger collar accentuates the shoulder line and leads to a single row of three buttons that fasten the coat at the bust. Slit pockets at the waist add a practical element and the back falls in a beautiful swing silhouette with expert pattern matching enhancing the shape even further. Inside, the coat is lined in purple satin and has a maker’s label for Betty Rose Fashions, who were a well known Kansas City maker of coats and suits of exceptional quality. Have a look at our blog post about this wonderful label for more details: https://blacksheepantiques.co.uk/blogs/vintage-fashion-history-and-labels/betty-rose-a-step-above-in-quality
Bust: up to 44”
