Amazing Original 1940s 40s Vintage Leather Ski Mitten Gloves
These amazing ski gloves were made in the 1940s from leather with a knitted cuff giving it some stretch. They were designed as mittens but with a separate section for the wearer’s little finger, which is not only practical but also super rare. Both the thumb and little finger have reinforcing leather patches to ensure they can withstand the wear of holding ski poles. The inside of the gloves is flannel lined to keep your hands toasty and warm.
Being mittens rather than gloves, they are very flexible in size. I have small hands and they fit me with plenty of room.
Palm Width: 4 1/2”
Length of Mitten: 9” including cuff
Little Finger Length: 2 1/2”
The gloves are in very good condition with the leather still soft and supple. There is a slight bit of discolouration at the edge of the knitted cuff and a small area of loose thread (the cuff is still securely attached) as pictured.
