A genuinely striking example of 1940s printed cotton, this blouse pairs a bold paisley motif with scattered florals in magenta, turquoise, olive and yellow, all set against a black ground. The print has real movement to it, painterly rather than repeated, and the colourwork is still remarkably vibrant for its age. Cut with short sleeves and a close, flattering fit through the body, the rayon jersey gives it a lovely soft drape and makes it genuinely easy to wear, not just to look at.
