Unusual Original 1940s Vintage Navy Blue Princess Coat with Scarf Detail By Windsmoor
This magnificent coat was made in the 1940s from navy blue wool. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with gently padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The small notched collar leads to a single row of five faceted buttons that fasten the coat at the front and matching buttons decorate the sleeve cuffs. Functional slit pockets are cleverly disguised in the beautiful seam work at the waist and an ingenious feature on the top of the bodice allows for a scarf to be fed through little flaps to add a wonderful design detail. It’s a great way to change up this classic and versatile coat by using a range of different scarves to tie in with the rest of the outfit. Inside, the coat has the most wonderful purple and cream lining and a maker’s label for Windsmoor as well as a retailer’s mark for Swan & Edgar of Piccadilly Circus.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few tiny flaws externally and some slight discolouration to the lining as pictured.
