Super Rare Original 1940s Volup Vintage Brown Gabardine Slacks Pants

These fabulous trousers were made in the 1940s from rich brown gabardine. They were cut in the classic wartime silhouette with a tightly fitted waist and a loose fit below. The wide legs are very flattering and have wonderful swish and movement. Three delicate buttons fasten the pants on each side of the waist for comfortable access and there is a functional slit pocket on one side. Inside, there is a maker’s label for International Sportswear of California as well as several pattern number tags. These trousers would look superb styled with a cute blouse of knit sweater.

Inside Leg: 26”

Outside Leg: 42” plus 2” hem

There is approximately 3 1/2” seam allowance at the back seam starting just below the waist and reducing in width as it runs towards the crotch. 

The trousers are in good condition with only a few marks, holes and colour inconsistencies as pictured. There is a darned repair near the buttons on the left, however this largely disappears into the fold and could be hidden with a reinforcing stitch on the pleat.
