Stunning Original 1940s Volup Vintage Red Gabardine Belted Trench Coat
This gorgeous coat was made in the 1940s from a rich lipstick red gabardine. It was cut in the classic trench coat style of the period with padded shoulders and a waist that is cinched in with a fabric belt. The small collar leads to a single row of five buttons that fasten the coat and functional slit pockets add a practical element. This really is a beautifully tailored spring weight piece. Inside, the coat is lined in navy rayon and has a maker’s label for Fitzgibbons.
Bust: 42” (tight 44”)
Waist: up to 40” but cinched with the belt
Hips: 52”
Shoulders: 18” edge to edge
Length: 42 1/4”
The coat is in good condition, however there are a number of faint marks and some damage to the lining and discolouration at the inside collar as pictured.
