This stunning coat was made in the late 1940s from lipstick red wool with a subtle checkered texture. The coat was cut in the classic swing silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The unusual tulip shaped standup collar leads to a single row of three gold coloured buttons that fasten the coat at the front. The wide cut sleeves add a statement detail and oversized turn up cuffs finish them off perfectly. Small slit pockets add a practical element and inside, the coat is lined in red acetate and has a maker’s label for W.M. Whitney & Co.

The coat is in very good condition with only one minuscule mark and two small nibbles as pictured.
