Incredible Rare Original 1940s Vintage Red Double Breasted Princess Coat By Carl Of New York
This exquisite coat was made from rich red wool in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic princess coat silhouette with padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The coat has been beautifully tailored with dart work emphasising the fitted waist. The collar was adorned with sumptuous brown mink fur and twelve stunning fabric covered buttons fasten the coat in a double breasted configuration. The skirt flares below the waist giving it wonderful swish and movement. Inside, the coat is lined in red crepe with a warm wool interlining and has a maker’s label for Carl of New York and retailer’s label for Wellesley as well as a National Recovery Board tag.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few tiny flaws and some slight underarm discolouration as pictured.
