Incredible Original 1940s 40s Vintage Mustard Yellow Skirt Suit By Gilbert Original

This incredible suit was made from a mustard gabardine in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic hourglass silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The collarless design shows off the strong shoulder line and the waist is cinched in with the attached fabric tie. Stunning V-shaped slash details adorn the body of the jacket and further enhance its strong shape, while a little V notch adds a lovely detail to the back of the collar. Inside, the jacket is lined in yellow crepe and has the maker’s label for Gilbert Original. The matching skirt fastens with a metal side zipper and double button closure above.

Waist: 27 1/2” (tight 28”), reduced by 2” if using the tighter buttonhole

The suit Is in very good condition with only a few minuscule marks and the start of a seam pop as pictured. The skirt waistband had an extra buttonhole added at some point to make it smaller.
