This fabulous coat was made from a white lace knit cotton in the 1930s. It was cut in the classic straight fit of the period and is intended as a lightweight topper worn over a summer dress. The textile has a wonderfully breezy quality to it and the simple design really allows it to shine. There are functional pockets at the hip and the sharp collar perfectly highlights the gorgeous green double button fastening at the neck.
