This incredible coat was made from tan wool gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic swing coat silhouette of the period which falls loosely from strong padded shoulders. The collarless neckline further emphasises the strong shoulders and highlights the gorgeous rouleau work fastening at the top of the bodice. The large patch pockets have been adorned with stunning gold bullion soutache embroidery, making them the real statement element of this coat. Velvet cuffs finish off the sleeves and the inside is lined in sumptuous satin.
