This stunning hat was made from sumptuous black velvet in the 1940s. It features fabulous pleating at the front and sides with a plain section at the back. A large matching hat pin can be used to secure the hat. The inside of the hat in lined in gold rayon which covers a straw base.
Due to the style of the hat, it perches loosely on the wearer’s head and is suitable for a variety of head sizes.
The hat is in very good condition with only a tiny fray to the velvet. Inside, some of the straw base is showing near the hat band as pictured.
