Exquisite Original 1930s Vintage Full Length Hooded Black Velvet Coat With Peaked Shoulders FOGA Label
This exquisite coat was made in the 1930s from sumptuous black velvet. It was cut in the classic full length style of the period with wonderful puffed gigot sleeves that taper to a tight fit around the wrist. This piece is incredible rare as it has an attached velvet hood trimmed with soft white fur on the edge. A single button fastens the coat at the neck and a velvet tie accentuates the neck with a large bow. The coat beautifully skims the wearer’s curves, nipping gently at the waist for a fitted silhouette. Inside, the coat is lined in delicate cream satin and has a maker’s label for Lipman Wolfe’s, a Union tag and the highly collectible Fashion Originator’s Guild of America (FOGA) label.
