This stunning suit was made in the 1940s from loose textured grey wool with a plaid pattern in shades of burgundy pink and purple. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with the waistcoat top neatly fitted at the waist. Five grey buttons fasten the waist coat at the front and the sharply tailored W hem and cute bust pocket enhance the elegantly tailored styling. The inside is partially lined in pink rayon and has a maker’s label for Hoffman Woollens of California. The matching skirt was cut in a gentle A line with beautiful inverted pleats at the front and back and fastens with an original metal side zipper and button closure above.
