This multicoloured piano shawl was made from devoré silk velvet in the 1920s and is pure Art Deco perfection. Primary shades of red, blue, yellow and silver on a black background catch the light and give this shawl a lustrous, almost iridescent, effect, lighting up the colours as the light hits it. The velvet features a delicate burnout pattern of flowers and a short macrame fringe. This piece would take pride of place in any flapper girl’s wardrobe.

This shawl is in excellent condition with only the slightest bit of colour transfer to the chiffon as pictured.
