These fabulous riding trousers were made from a heavy forest green denim weight twill in the 1940s. They were cut in a classic jodhpurs style with a tightly fitted waist and huge elephant ear hips tapering to a slim fitting calf which is fastened with six buttons on each leg. The waist of the jodhpurs fastens with four buttons on each side and there are functional waist pockets to add a practical feature. Soft suede patches have been sewn to the inside of the carves and knees to extend the wear of the trousers and add a classic equestrian style detail. Inside, the waistband of the trousers has been lined in cream cotton and there is a small maker’s label for Kerrybrooke.

The jodhpurs are in good condition with only a few frays at the waist and the leg as well as a tiny mark as pictured. There is also overlooking to some of the seams, which is not uncommon on period sportswear and only present on the most likely to fray seams. The lining is showing some slight colour bleed which is not visible when worn.
