Ethereal Original 1950s Vintage Seafoam Aqua Rayon Faille Princess Coat
This stunning coat was made in the 1950s from rayon faille in a beautiful seafoam aqua shade. It was cut in the classic princess coat silhouette of the era with a fitted waist and a flared skirt. The small collar is fastened with a hook and a further double button and loop fastening closes the coat at the waist. The bodice has been expertly tailored with dolman sleeves and intricate seam work to create unique interest at the sleeve seams. At the back a a wonderful piped waist seam adds shape and visual interest to the garment and below the seam, the skirt flares out with an inverted centre pleat and beautiful volume. Inside, the coat is lined in blush brocade and there is a maker’s label for RM Org which appears to be handmade.
