Stunning Original 1920s Art Deco Striped Metal Chain Mesh Handbag

This wonderful bag was made in the 1920s from silver metal chain mail. It was created in a striped design giving the effect of knitted knit and purl stitches in wide stripes. The bottom edge of the bag is gently scalloped and the top edge attaches to a beautiful art deco metal frame. A small chain handle finished off the bag perfectly. 

Size: 9” at base x 6” including frame 

Handle gives a further 7 1/2” height from top of frame 

The bag is in very good condition with only some loose areas of chain mail at the sides of the frame as pictured.
