Incredible Rare 1940s Original Volup Vintage Purple Wool Crepe Dress Suit
This stunning suit was made in the 1940s from aubergine purple wool crepe. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The wonderful scalloped collar highlights the shoulder line and leads to a single row of five buttons that fasten the blazer. The double layered mock pocket flaps mirror this beautiful scalloped detailing and the jacket has been perfectly tailored to fit the wearer’s curves. Inside, the blazer is lined in purple crepe, including built in dress shields, and has a label for Thalhimer’s Lovely Lady Shop in Richmond. The matching skirt was cut in a gentle A line and date s with an original metal side zipper and button closure above.
