Incredible Original 1970s Does 1930s Vintage Black Velvet Hooded Princess Coat
This stunning coat was made from sumptuous black cotton velvet in the 1970s. It was cut to resemble the wartime style of the late 1930s / early 1940s with gathered shoulders and a fitted princess coat silhouette. The coat fastens with eight buttons in a double breasted configuration and nips in at the waist before the skirt flares out for a voluminous full length look. Functional pockets have been hidden in the side seams and the coat features a rare hood to give it all the femme fatale vibes. This is such a timeless and classically elegant piece. Inside, the coat is lined in black rayon faille and has a Garment Worker’s Union label as well as a dry cleaning tag.
