This incredible coat was made in the 1940s from wool with a lovely periwinkle and yellow plaid pattern. It is cut in a classic 1940s style with super strong padded shoulders. The coat can be worn either unbelted as a swing coat or with the waist cinched in with the matching belt. The pattern matching on the swing back is just incredible and clearly shows the attention for detail we do love in 1940s design. The small shawl collar and turn up cuffs are decorated with black velvet highlights and there are functional pockets at the hips. The coat fastens with two rows of four plastic buttons at the bust and is lined in blush rayon inside. 

Bust: 42” 

Waist: free but maximum belt holes are 28” to 32 1/2”

Shoulders: 16” seam to seam (measured where front shoulder seams hit)

Length: 39 3/4”

The coat is in good condition with a few darns as pictured. There is also some wear to the top button loop and one of the buttons is slightly chipped. The belt is quite worn with loose fabric at the buckle and would benefit from rebacking with replacement fabric.
