Incredible Original 1940s Volup Vintage Blue Gabardine Swing Coat With Beaded Pockets
This incredible coat was made from blue gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in a classic swing coat silhouette with fabulous sun ray darted shoulders and a loose fit below. The back falls in wonderful voluminous pleats giving the piece lovely movement and swish. The small lapels give structure to the front of the coat which sits open when worn and clever darting gives shape to the piece. The real highlight however are the huge delicately beaded pockets, which make this coat a true statement piece! Inside, it is lined in crepe but does not have any maker’s labels.

Shoulders: 18” edge to edge
Length: 29 1/2” at the back, 26 1/2” at the front
The coat is in very good condition with only a few tiny seam splits, a mark and a hole to the lining and a couple of missing beads (please see close ups of the pockets) as pictured.
