Are you sick of the inevitable dry cleaning bill that comes with wearing vintage clothing? The endless hours of hand washing?  Did you know that each wash or dry clean degrades the fabric of your previous garment a little further?

So we thought, we would go back to the old ways for a simple solution to help extend the life of your beautiful vintage. Most of you would have seen some crumpled white fabric in the sleeves of a vintage dress and wondered why? Or the underarm discolouration on the lining of vintage blazers in particular?

Well, here is the answer DRESS SHIELDS! These cute little cotton triangles can be attached to your garment by tack stitching at the corners of the underarm seam, pinning (we wouldn’t recommend that, it hurts if it goes wrong, so if you try this, it is at your own risk only) or inserting tiny poppers. They then stand ready to absorb any sweat as needed and you can simply detach and launder them instead of your garment!

It’s so easy and will save you a fortune in dry cleaning bills! As we are all about authenticity, our seamstress has cut them to an original 1940s design with pinked edges to limit fabric fraying. They are equally suitable for suits, blazers and dresses but we have two different options for you:

1. Pure cream cotton for your heavier weight dresses, blazers and suits

or

2. White cotton muslin for lightweight summer dresses (so they don’t show through the fabric)

They are universally sized and super easy to use even for a sewing novice as only a couple of tiny stitches are required at each side to secure them.

If you would like to purchase larger quantities or are interested in a different colour, please drop us a message and we can sort something out.
