Original 1930s Vintage Volup Black Rayon Dress With Pierced White Puritan Collar

This understatedly elegant dress was made from a black rayon in the 1930s. It has an elegant plunging neckline which is highlighted with a classical pierced and embroidered Puritan collar (tacked on for easy removal when cleaning). At the centre of the garment there are side pleats which extenuate the hip of the wearer as well as giving a little swish. The waist has been graciously highlighted with chevron channel stitch which cleverly draws the eye to those skirt pleats and gives this piece a strong Art Deco feel.
