This fabulous coat was made from mustard yellow wool in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic swing coat silhouette of the period falling loosely in a straight cut. The strong shoulder line is created by the collarless neckline and the dramatic overhanging shoulders rather than padding. A single black button fastens the coat at the neck and black trim adorns the edges of the collar, placket and sleeves. Small waist pockets add a practical element and the inside is lined in yellow crepe and bears the collectible Youthcraft maker’s label.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few very minor grazes and marks and some light discolouration to the underarm lining as pictured.
